The Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia is offering a number of merit badge opportunities for scouts in our district to earn Citizenship in the Nation, Archeology, and American Heritage. Pre registration and payment required for these workshops in advance. To register visit www.chesterfieldhistory.com. The cost of program does not include badge. The Boy Scout merit badge workshops listed below are offered by a certified merit badge counselor with the Heart of Virginia Council.

Citizenship in the Nation Badge Workshop
This program is geared for boys age 11-14 looking to fulfill the requirements for their merit badge. This program will allow scouts to understand their rights, liberties and freedoms as a citizen by discussing important historical documents, learning the branches of government and examining important historical speeches.

American Heritage Badge Workshop
This program is geared for Boy Scouts age 11-14 looking to fulfill their merit badge requirements addressing history and cultural heritage.

Archaeology Badge Workshop
This program is geared for boys aged 11-14 looking to obtain their merit badge for this special achievement. This day-long workshop will address all aspects of the archaeological process to include site surveys, excavation, artifact repair and activities.
