New District Commissioner
Written by Mark Waggoner
At the Council Commissioner's Cabinet meeting last night, Bennie Goode was sworn in as Huguenot Trail's new District Commissioner, and Mark Waggoner was sworn in as Assistant Council Commissioner for the Districts South of the James River.

A message from Mark Waggoner:

It has been a privilege to serve as your District Commissioner during a very tumultuous and challenging time over the past five years. We split from Shawondassee District as Shawondassee I to become Huguenot Trail, and then expanded to incorporate Buckingham, Cunningham, and Prince Edward Counties! It has been a bumpy road, but we have been working diligently to bring the District into a cohesive and working organization, and we are on the road to success. This past year:
  • Membership has grown.
  • The District Committee is expanding.
  • We lost one of our oldest chartered units, but four new ones have been chartered .
  • The Commissioner Corps has almost doubled, is growing, has reorganized and will be fully trained to assist units.
We still have much work to do, but our positive efforts became evident during the waning days of 2009, and I'm proud to say that we successfully reached our goals for the year and attained Quality District. Congratulations!

We are Huguenot Trail!

Continuing in Service,

Mark Waggoner
